Plastics Meetings is the only event for plastics supply chain in Mexico.
In the manufacturing industry, plastic inputs occupy a preponderant place, since they are in the application of new products, technologies, construction, packaging, auto parts and consumption, among others. The annual growth of the plastics industry in Mexico since 2009 is 4.8%, it represents 2.2% of total exports national level.
The companies in this sector add up to a commercial value of more than 23 billion dollars and maintain economic interaction with more than 50 thousand companies and industries.
Mexico surpasses China, the United States and Germany in terms of world plastic production, ranking eleventh in the world.
This sector, which estimates a consumption of 5.3 million tons in the country, plays an important role in the manufacturing sector and especially in the export market, where there are great opportunities for Mexican suppliers.
For 2017, it expects a 6% growth of the plastics industry in Mexico, due to the fact that it has a higher consumption of material in the country, according to projections by the director of the National Association of Plastics Industries (ANIPAC), Raúl Mendoza Tapia.
